The baroque building was built after 1702 by the architect Christian Alexander Oedtl for Johann Carl Freiherr von Geymann (or the actual owner Barbara Elisabeth von Geymann) with the inclusion of the old structure of the Volkhra-Palais.

The impressive stucco is a valuable part in the palace’s heart. Tender tendrils form the ceiling stucco in the stairwell and in some of the adjoining rooms on the first and second floors.
